North China Sea Marine Forcasting Center of State Oceanic Administration(NMFC),established in 1965, is set up by State Oceanic Administration(SOA) in Qingdao to be engaged in the marine environmental monitoring,forecast,consultation and research. It is also the working section that the Nation authorizated to release marine environmental forecast in Bohai,Yellow sea and northern sea area of China East Sea. In July of 1997,Shandong Province Forecasting Station was set up by the center(NMFC) and Shandong province government.
At present, North China Sea Marine Forecasting Center has 110 employees, including 7 professors, 18 senior engineers, 11 masters .The major of the employees include Physical oceanography, hydrography, ocean chemistry, biology, aquatic product, computer, communication, GIS,mapping,ocean engineering, law, marine management, economy etc, so the human resources and academics ar e configured reasonable. NMFC holds 13 operational sections,2 biology and chemistry laboratorys,5 marine environmental monitoring stations.

◎ The advanced VSAT satellite communication transmit system which can obtain global data of the ocean,hydrology and weather.
◎ The advanced computer processing system which can dispose real time data of global ocean quickly, and can make numerical forecasting products.
◎ The advanced satellite remote sensing system, which can carry out real time data collection and processing of the polar-orbiting and the synchronous satellite's remote sensing information, including SST, sea ice, and tide etc.
◎ The real time communication system of marine monitoring station in the North sea area, which can obtain the real time data from the seacoast in Bohai Sea, Yellow sea and the marine buoy.
◎ Several numerical forecasting systems which can carry out forecast and the numerical simulation of wave, storm surge, sea ice, SST, oil spill, sand transportation, etc.
